even though we might see cooler temps this week we have tips for summertime power savings that are always a preferred idea regardless of how hot it is during the warm seasons. summertime for many of us means hot weather and lots of sunshine. as much as you may like the sunshine on your skin, sun that makes it’s way inside your house through windows can contribute to making your house warmer. this is particularly true if your windows face east and west. try and close curtains as often as you can during the day to limit the amount of heat and sun (heat gain) that will enter your house through your windows.

making our homes more power efficient has been all the rage this past year. with the encouragement given by the federal tax credits, it seems like everyone is taking at least some initiative to make their homes more green friendly. it feels preferred to do your part for the environment, but the real enticement to make changes lies in the money that can be saved on monthly power bills. buisnesses in the heating, ventalation, and air conditioning industry have especially benefited from these enticements, and they have been swapping out old inefficient furnaces and air conditioners all year round. the only problem is that many customers are still not seeing the decrease in cost that they were hoping for.
