carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides do not sound like gases you want floating around in the air you breathe. but, thousands of people get sick or die every year from exposure to these harmful gases. how do they get in your house? if you have a gas powered heater, boiler, or hot water heater, odds are one of more of these is the source of these gases. gas powered, as well as oil and wood powered, devices involve the creation of combustion air to create heat. if everything is set up correctly and is working the way it is designed to, this would not be a problem. however, when problems do occur combustion gases can crack into the air inside your house.
